Importing events from Fienta
How Fienta organises single events vs. series, and which import method to use: series and organiser imports work publicly; single events need your Fienta integration.
You can pull events straight from Fienta into Spotagig instead of retyping them. Fienta organises events a little differently from other platforms, so this page explains how it's laid out and which import method to use for each kind of link — so a paste that "doesn't work" almost always just needs a different method.
How Fienta organises events
There are two things worth understanding before you import.
Single events vs. series
- A single event is one show on one date, e.g. fienta.com/wallshebnyy-standup.
- A series is a recurring show with many dates. Its page lives at a /s/ address, e.g. fienta.com/s/what-is-love. Each date in the series is also its own single event with its own link.
What Fienta links look like
A Fienta URL may be a tidy custom address the organiser chose (fienta.com/my-show) or Fienta's default address with the event's number on the end (fienta.com/my-show-166010). Both are fine to paste — Spotagig figures out the rest. A number on the end that looks like a year (e.g. …-2026) is treated as part of the name, not an event ID, so those import correctly too.
Import a whole series
Paste the series link (the /s/… one, or the organiser's custom series address) into Import from URL. Spotagig imports every upcoming date in the series in one go. No API key needed — series import works from Fienta's public data.
Import a single event
Paste the event's URL into Import from URL. Single events are fetched through Fienta's authenticated API, so this needs your Fienta integration connected — and, on Fienta's side, it only returns events from your own Fienta account.
If the event belongs to another organiser, you can't pull it in by its single link. Import it by organiser or, if it's part of a series, paste the /s/ series link instead.
Import all of an organiser's events
Enter a Fienta organiser ID to bring in that organiser's upcoming events, then pick the ones you want on the preview screen. This works from public data — no API key required — and is the simplest way to import events you don't own.
If an import doesn't work
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Invalid Fienta URL" | Paste the event's public page URL (the address in your browser on the Fienta event or series page), or a series /s/… link. |
| "…connect your Fienta integration" | Single-event import needs your Fienta API key. Add your Fienta integration in your settings, or paste the series link / import by organiser instead — those don't need a key. |
| "…belongs to another organiser" | Fienta only lets your account fetch its own events. Import that event by organiser, or via its /s/ series link. |
| "No events found… may be in the past" | Imports bring in upcoming dates only. If the show has already ended, there's nothing to import. |
