How do I create an event?
The two ways to add an event: importing from a ticketing platform (the preferred flow) or building one by hand.
There are two ways to add an event to Spotagig. Importing from a ticketing platform you already use is the preferred flow because the date, description, image and ticket link are filled in for you. You can also build an event manually when there's nothing to import from.
Option A — Import an event (preferred)
Importing pulls events from a connected platform. Spotagig currently imports from Eventbrite and Fienta, either by pasting a single event link or by loading everything from a connected account.
- Connect / paste link
- Fetch events
- Preview & select
- Match venue / producer
- Import
- Open the import page In the sidebar under Produce (or Manage Venues) click Import Events, or go straight to the Import Events page.
- Choose what to import Paste a single event URL into Import Single Event from URL, or pick a connected account from Integration Account (Fienta also lets you load by organizer ID). Leave Import future events only ticked to skip events that have already happened.
- Pick the owner Select which producer or venue the events should belong to, then click Fetch Events.
- Review the preview On Preview Events to Import set the defaults you want applied to the imported events — Open for performers (lets performers apply) and Auto Lineup (builds the lineup automatically from confirmed spots).
- Match venues and producers Each event card tries to match its venue/producer to one you manage. Confirm or adjust the match so the event lands in the right place.
- Select and import Tick the events you want (or Select All Events) and click Import Selected Events. A progress bar tracks the import and the result summary offers Import More Events when it's done.
Option B — Create an event manually
When there's nothing to import, build the event by hand.
- Open the create form From the sidebar under Produce click Create Event (venues use Add event to Venue), or use Create Event on your producer dashboard. You can also jump straight to Create Event.
- Fill in the details Add a title, description and start / end times. Choose the producer and/or venue the event belongs to and upload a cover image (and an optional square image for cards). For recommended sizes, the date-badge safe area, and the optional square image, see event images & sizing.
- Decide who can apply Turn on Open to all performers to accept applications, or Open to closed lists to restrict it to your closed lists. Enable Auto Lineup if you want the lineup generated from confirmed spots.
- Add tickets (optional) Link to an external ticket page or set up built-in ticketing — see Selling tickets & registrations.
- Set visibility and save Set Publication status to draft while you work, or published to make it live, then click Create Event.
