I’m a second-generation Chinese immigrant, multilingual, and a certified eldest daughter which basically means I’ve been the unofficial translator, tech support, and emotional load-bearing wall of my family since age 11. I ended up in tech the same way most immigrant kids end up anywhere: chasing the money, and the very specific prestige of being the answer to ‘so what does your daughter do again’? I’m a total newbie in standup, after two shows in, I’m hooked. Now I’m chasing more stages. My aspiration is to do more shows. My jokes are mostly for other eldest daughters and migrant kids growing up in Germany. Translating our struggles into jokes that can distract them for a bit of taking themselves too seriously.
